i miss my friends at malaysia.

Perak lost the National comp.. well, they got 2nd.... and the Best Preparation Award... and the Best Drummajor Award..
How can they loose to CHS which is so much worser..
Must be the judges..
So disappointed.. They cried.. well.. if i am there, i will sure drop to my knees and cry too.
I felt so sad when i heard the news from my friends.
anyway.. no matter win or loose, we'll still have to face it.. its all part of life that we cant change...

arts is supposed to be my rice bowl.

Malaysia National Level Marching Band Comp is today. my friends are at penang now. all the best to them.

All the best too for ellex, ven chiang, pam, and fern for their last exam.

Saw my FOE and ESL rankings today. Got a shock out of my life. How can i get 100something this term on FOE?! This is completely insane. Chris got a shock too. Must be something wrong with the markings and computer system. crazy.. that stupid bitch mary gave me so few marks for my interview. I believe i did a good job and yet.. this is totally &#*!()&@*()$@T^) *tuuuuut* and my ESL dropped from 1st to 9th. my goodness. Its all because of different teacher's markings. some of my friends from other classes got almost full marks for their speaches. how can this happen! this is not fair at all. crazy teachers.. crazy marks.. driving my craaaaazzyyyy. haiii.....

so sad.

It actually feels good to be home.

well.. my sydney home, Taylors House.

TH smells like a hotel. Maybe the air is fresher and cleaner. They are doing some renovation here and there.

Mayboo's back too. She looks so much prettier with her braces taken off.

Lynette's going to be appointed Supervisor soon. That's good news too.

I met Zhe Xin & Michelle at the airport. "Talked" to them through the thick class seperating the waiting room from the main corridor. We cannot hear each other so we used handphones to type and show each other's msg through the glass. I asked them to find Alex. They looked around and michelle showed me a pic of Alex talking over the phone. i asked, WHERE??? and they pointed downwards. Alex was all the while outside there talking over the phone! haha. We ended out being the 2 last passengers AGAIN.

Took the whole day to tidy up my room.

Time flies past really fast. After pigging at home for 2 weeks, its finally time for me to bid goodbye to my friends which I will never see again for another 1/2 a year..

I organized a steamboat dinner together at 196(another restaurant with numbers as name.... -_-``) with all my form5 bandmates. I had been some time since I had steamboat and it was delicious indeed. Tomyum and clear soup. Muaah.. There is karaoke there. BTong and Doon went to nominate LeeYee to sing. When her turn came, she got a shock and refused to go on stage. Haha. Anyway, we had lots of fun and took lots of photos. At first they joked about having me to treat them. But luckily Wei Hoong helped me out by reasoning to them. In the end, everybody paid just RM10 for that sumptuous dinner. Ah Loong didnt managed to turn out. He sms me just before the appointment time. If not due to the last minute decision, I would have cancelled the whole thing. Without him there, its just not like our group, shorting of something..

David droved Wen Wen, AhBoon, Wei Xing and me to Lumut after that, around 11pm. It was raining heavily and can barely see the road. We had ice kacang in the rain and they told me about their band trip to Spain. How I wish I could join them. Loong called me and apologized. It's a once in a blue moon thing that he will say sorry to someone so I knew he really meant it. He and David had some grudge going on and he didnt know that I invited David too until David they all announced it in the bandroom. He said he really really wanted to come, but he dont want to see David.. I wonder what happened between them. They were best friends once. Well.. best friends do fight.. but.. I dunno.. At first I couldnt think of the reason why he did not want to come. I called and called him but he never picked up his hp. His mum told me he havent came back yet. I started to get perasan that he hates me or something.. but when he called me, wow.. its really a "phew".. haha. I should stop my perasan already. Sometimes its really killing me..

Wen Wen, Wei Xing and me couldnt hold our pail before the ice kacang came. So 3 of us went searching for the public toilet. Who knows it had been locked. So we ran to the park and peed under the round stone table in a pagoda like structure.. ahha. Supposed to do it in the trees but the spotlight.. I bend down my legs a bit to pee cos they are too long. Found it too tiring and couldnt pee out so I just sat on the stone chair and did it. We took turns looking out for ppl around. Luckily it was almost 12 something, most of the people would be sleeping by now. Only a few crazy honeymooners walking about. Ran back to join David and AhBoon for the ice kacang immediately before some ppl spot us.. hahaha.

We discussed a lot of stuff.. about spain.. about next time.. about going to Japan next year if Nan Hwa gets 1st this year.. about sydney.. about my return to Malaysia.. about the future.. I find that its really good to sit down like this once in a while to talk among friends.. to keep in touch with them. I am going to really miss them while I am at Sydney.. 6 more months.. by that time, they would all had finished their SPM and flying like lil' angels and devils..

While fetching me home, David asked me, :"John.. what had u archieved during this holiday?" I couldnt anwser him at first.. then i told him, "well, i meet up with you guys, you guys really meant a lot to me." =)

Farewell...

Went to band at 7.30 to meet up with my friends for the last time. Talked about the competition a bit with Mr.Ho, then joined them for their body warm-up exercises. When father came to fetch around 8, I hesitated a bit to walk to the car. Then Wei Hoong said bye, followed by some friends around him.. then I just said bye and wave.. then as I was about to reach papa’s car, everybody shouted: "ByeBye JOHN!!" and waved to me.. I waved back to them.. thinking.. its going to be like forever till I am going to see them again.. a wave of sorrow gushed over me. I forgot to wish them all the best for the coming competition..argh..

Taxi journey to KL was damn boring. I forgot to charge my laptop so I couldnt do anything with it.. aa...

Reached Midvalley at last. Went to check-in and ate lunch at Oh!Sushi. the Jap food there is a bit too expensive.. dun quite like it.. and the waiters kept on shouting IRASHAIMASE!! IRASHAIMASE!!ぃらしゃいませ！！MASE!! MASE!! Literally shouting! Cannot stand it.. cant they say it politely in a more authentic Japanese way with a kowtow? Once a person say, every waiter will shout.

Mission: Search for the TITAN and the Hoodie
Adidas TITAN could not be found in every sport shop, including the Adidas shop. Hoodies are available here and there but not a single one is passable. Either the colour, or the pattern turned me off.
MISSION FAILED

I guess I would have to get those things that I wanted in Sydney. No choice but to save money to get them. “walking bank” is not around. Haha.

Gugu came and took mummy and me to Pasar Seni to get some souvenirs. Then we walked to Chinatown aka Petaling Street just to see see. The whole street is crowded with people and fake stuff. I think I can find my adidas there. Hah! But it would probably only last a week or two before the sole peels off.

Had dinner at the hotel’s very expensive but not nice Chinese Ramen restaurant.

I am not feeling well. I guess it must be the ice kacang that I ate yesterday night. Not including the 2 packets of Ice Kacang and Cendol that yee huai treated me in the afternoon. Haha. I got a itchy throat and my voice deepen an octave lower and achieved Fern’s sexy voice. Muuahahhahaha. Thanks to that, I could control myself not to eat too many stuff thus wont gain weight. Must think positive mahh.. hahah.. what to do.. sick already.. haiz.. well tomorrow would be my last day to taste Malaysian food. I will eat nasi lemak and hainanese chicken rice! Haha.

Dental Clinic revisit
Mum did scaling (cuci gigi) on my teeth. To clean it thoroughly. She kept on mentioned that i dint brush my teeth properly and my gums are all swelled up and bleeding.. geez.. brushing my teeth twice a day isn't enough meh... hai.. still need to floss. something that i can never learn to do...
mum polished my teeth my some dunno what kind of thingy.. but it still looks the same.. hah. told her to bleech them but she wont allow, said unnatural.

Went to Happy Tea House to have dinner with Justin, Lai Fatt and Mei Sze. Lai Fatt kept on promote his new sony ericsson phone. He had been using telecom (house phone) for years already and is currently a proud over of a hp. haha.

Went to Jaya Jusco at Ipoh for shopping.

My uncle from sydney came and wanted to visit us at first but found out that we are planing to go to Ipoh, so he hopped on the wagon. Papa fetched him to visit his old house at Ipoh which he rented to some ppl after he left for Sydney. He stayed there to clean it up so that he can rent to a new somebody since the previous person that rent his house got a new home.

SO, we arrived at JJ quite late and everything is in a rush.

I couldnt find my Adidas Titan shoes.
I couldnt find a hoodie.

and mum wont buy me the shirt from SUB that is really nice (in sing lin's accent) because its RM95.

so disappointed

anyway, she spent around 600 on books for me. a bit guilty....
i ate sushi at Sushi King. Realised that its not as nice as Sushi Train at Sydney coz its not authentically made by Japanese.
had Baskin Robbins too.

Fetched uncle from his house after that.
Went to eat Ipoh's most famous Nga Choi Gai Fan (tauge, chicken and kuey teow soup) for dinner.
It really brings back sweet memories when the band used to stop there after we performed for the Sultan during Merdeka Day.
Another time i ate there was during JMFWO ( Japanese Malaysian Friendship Wind Orchestra)'s concert at Ipoh. The japanese were very anxious to try out our food. hahaha.

bought some pirated Dvds at the stall outside the Nga Choi Gai Fan restaurant - Initial D, War of the World, Unleased, and Madagascar.
checked on my com and found out that 3 of them are pirated's pirated (recorded from cinema) and Madagascar cannot be watched (no file found) ^#($#^)&)@_*@) *tuuuuuut*

Perak State Marching Band Competition

once again, Nan Hwa emerged as champion as usual, representing Perak for the National Comp at Penang, 18th of July. This time Ave Maria (sister band) didnt take part due to lack of strong members. St Michael's cowboy uniform stuns audiences. Our neighbour school ACS did a good job too. But all fell under Nan Hwa's hands as expected.

but this time.. the feeling is different. I am no longer one of them, holding an instrument, marching in the field, bringing glory to the school.

this time, i am just back as a senior.. as a supporter.. as a helper..

now i understand how the "ke le fe" feels.

i wished so much to join my bandmates. doing solo in sydney really bored me to death. band-less life.. i felt half empty.. half of my life being left back home..

anyway, Wei Hoong being awarded the best drummajor. Felt so proud and happy for him. After those few weeks of hard work, scoldings, and being looked down, he proved to mr. ho that he can make it. Well done Wei Hoong!!

Went to school this morning to say Hi to my non-band friends together with Zhe Xin.
They all are busy preparing for their SPM. doing mt all the time... crazy.. i cant even stand doing 2 questions.. maths drives me mad..
Had canteen's tea leaf egg. Not used to the xtreme dirt cheap prices. (haha)
Went to library to use the free wireless internet. Ah loong busy doing his mt.. maths again.... -_-"
I wonder why Taylors didnt apply for the wireless thingy.. even my cheap old school has it..
Zhe Xin took me home around 1.30. Ah loong offered to fetch her home but when i ask him why not fetch me home? he said "not on the same way" and just brroooommm off. damn it..

Fell asleep watching naruto.. too tired.....

Saxes Outing once again..

Went out with Saxes at night. Melissa fetched us with her Superbig Car. Supposed to go to the new Jap restaurant (malay chefs.. -_-") near at Teluk Batik. End out not open on Weds.. went to Lido in the end. I miss chinese restaurant food.. yeah.. all those O-Jien (olyster egg), pai gu wang (pork ribs).... yum.yum.yum. As usual, we gobbled down everything within a few minutes. haha. Took a lot of pictures with the food. but none of us remember to take a group photo... haaiii.... its a pity Pepsi and Christine didnt manage to come with us this time. Well.. the next outing probably would be after the national comp. Yee Huai would be treating them.. and i wont be there to eat.. :'(

Went to 576 or issit.. 5... something something.. why all those numbers as shop name... had ice kacang for desert. Only me, yee huai, and hui teng. Melissa have to take the rest back because tomorrow is still a school day for them.

I kept on think that i have lots of time here. Who knows days past by very fast.. I have only 10 days left before i leave Sitiawan for KL then to Sydney..

I dont want to waste those 10 days waking up late at lunch time... glueing my eyes in front of the com watching naruto.. I tried to communicate with my friends more, but in a way, i felt there is already a gap in between.. a distance between me and my friends.. the distance between syd and mas.. and distance of time...

I guess its just my subconcious mind.. playing with me..

Why am i back here? i asked myself... is my return worth it?

sometimes.. i think.. will it be better if i had stayed back at Taylors?

10 days left.. for me to enjoy Malaysia..

I really want to visit some of them.. play with them in their house.
but time just dont give way.. they need to sleep early for school.. need to study.. i am unsure about their tuition time too.

Transportation is another problem. I am just too lazy to cycle. I wanna drive. Some of my friends had already got their driving license. i wannnaaaa driveeee..
but the sound of having to sit and listen to Undang (road laws) for 6 hours freaked me out...

band competition coming.. therefore band is fully active these days.. i joined them as much as i can. Band is my only regret of leaving malaysia. Preparations are all superb. juz need to polish up here and there. Perak comp will be no problem as usual.. May get 1st this year in National too.. i wish i could be like 1 of them in the field.. holding an instrument.. worrying about spacing and lines.. looking at the conductor.. playing my song.. putting in my best effort..

Melissa scolded the saxes terribly today.. me and her supervised their section practice.. She's a bit harsh. I am too soft.. i pampered them too much.. thats why they can never improve. Thank God she's still around for form6.

Woke up at 12. realised that it was only 10 later, coz i forgot to change my watch's time. Had breakfast. Market kuih. Had been some time since i tasted those food. Same goes to kakak Mijah's "hospital" cooking. Tasted heavenly at first. but after 2 weeks, it would probably taste as hospital as it had always been. haha.

hmm.. kampung chicken soup.. damn nice... yummm...
mum asked me whether i want a slow cooker or not so that i can cook soup at sydney.. considering...

My frenz are all busy with tuition. so no time to hang out with me. Went Fajar with mum, just like i used to every Sunday. Its nothing compared to Myers.. wanted to buy some new ts coz i only brought 2 shirts back. But after living in Sydney for 5 months.. got used to all those branded stuff, all those cloths in Fajar looked so par lia... haha. didnt bought any in the end..

Mei Sze called me out for dinner at KFC together with Zhe Xin. Zhe Xin looked soooo much fatter since she left for Melbourne. haha. I called Justin out too. KFC here is heavenly.. haha. unlike the KFC at Syd. Maybe coz i am used to eating KFC with Thai Chili Sauce. ( and chili sauce is FREE here!!!, not 75$ for a small helping in syd.) We gossipped, cranked jokes, took funky photos, and rocked the whole KFC until people started to leave.. hahah. All my friends looked so dark compared to be due to the band practices. haha. I looked like a freaking snow man with golden hair.. yikes..

Walked all the way back home from KFC with Justin. Took us about and hour plus.. Talked to him about Sydney, hows school there.. my friends.. and the liar.
He told me stories and gossips here.

He spilled the beans and told some of my friends about my return. They then made him call me during their band practice break. When i answered the phone, he switched it to Mei Sze. She sounded so happy. ahha. then passed the phone to sing ean. and also Doon Asan, can recognise his "CHEAP REN!"
They then asked me to come over coz they are having breakfast at the coffee shop next to our school. Ah loong came to fetch me with his motor. Havent seen him for a long time. missed him so much. It had been a long time since i ride a motorbike. haha. damn siok... the sensation of exposing urself to the air... well, hot air for malaysia.. haha

My friends all were so astonished to see me. haha. 1 by 1 rush out to greet me as if i am a superstar. hahaha. Seow yan is the 1st person to say, ah john!! follow by Pepsi, then Justin. hahaha. It just feel so good to see them. Loong treated me to liang cha(cool tea) which i had never drank since i went to sydney. haha. He then fetched me to band practice. More people were watching a video in the bandroom. As i went in, everybody were like Jooohhhnn! hahaha. feel so like home.. so happy.. Mr ho came later, played some songs. ah.. playing as an ensemble is just so different from playing alone.

Went back after band prac, almost bored to death before Seow Yan called and ask me out for lunch together with some saxes. Melisa came to fetch me. Went to Happy Tea House. Pepsi and Hui Teng went too. Most of my friends can drive car already.. i wanna drive too... wanna drive the ferrari in Terry Hogan. haha.

Section practice at 4. I walked around my ex-school compound.. school days memories flashed in my mind.. my friends.. my teachers.. band.. really miss those days.. happy memories they were..

Mr Tan's birthday today. He saw the cake and quickly drove away after practice... -_-"

Hanged around with frenz after prac. David and Ahboon suggested to go out later, to have dinner or something... Loong asked me too. but i knew something went wrong between him and david, ahboon made me very hard to promise david they all.. its like being pulled between 2 sides.. David called around 10 ( which is still so early to me) and said it was too late. maybe they need to rest cos band prac took out the whole day. I tried calling loong's house several time but nobody picked out the phone. his 012 KO already. So i called ah boon to cancel the outing, and called wei xing to ask for loong's 016 num. called him and he said that he's already out with ling jeat they all (which includes mr.ho....). So, let it be tomorrow then. But i had already promised MeiSze to meet up with Zhe Xin for dinner... and my parents want to bring me to Ipoh...argh.. so many appoinments..

My father dont want to buy me a prepaid sim card. He put on his frowny face and tsk, for that 2 weeks only???. After getting used to life without lectures, frowny faces and tsktsktsk, listened to him say that really makes me WHAT?! grrr.....
another thing i have to bear for 2 weeks... thinking of all those frowny faces and tsk, really makes me want to go back to sydney... haii. why cant those frowns off his face?? damn annoying..

Alex's Uncle Tempo fetched alex and I to the airport. Ven and Ellex came down to send us off. Not to forget lynette too, who helped us to carry some of our luggage. thanks a lot guys..

As the car took off, watching the 3 of them getting smaller and smaller from my view, i felt as sad just like the day i left malaysia for sydney.

The flight was ookk.. alex and i were the last to board the plane. They even called out our names.. haha. Mr Ng and Mr Low, please proceed to gate 55 immediately. so embaressing.. haha. Watched Kungfu Hustle and a korean comedy, My Boyfriend is B type. Food wasn't nice. and guess what?? Chong Min sat next to us! I was wondering who am i going to sit with since alex is taking the seat nearest to the aisle. haha. She said her new school, which is Chestwood Girls High (or something like that.. -_-") is sooo much better than Taylors. haha. I wonder what grudge she held on Taylors.. dun care..

I am on the taxi now.. the journey had been boring.. I miss my friends at Sydney, just couldn’t stop thinking about them.. couldn’t sleep. Decided to take out my laptop out instead.. the indian radio playing.. so annoying..

Hah. I saw the sign to Sitiawan. Some familiar buidings.. my estimation ..30 minutes more..

Well.. almost reaching home now.. I recognize the turning.. that leads to the highway beside my house..

The day before..

Went to City with Alex. He’s so excited. “Finally, we are going home, John. Finally,” he said. I can barely maintain my emotions, covered up with my usual laughing. Hahahaha. The storm didn’t stopped us from getting there, although it did managed to wet our shoes. I went to pay my fine. Then we stopped by Toss & Turn to have Banana Bliss crepe. It’s really blissful. Stopped by at Paddy’s Market & Market City to buy souvenir for Alex’s gf. I bought a special handmade ear ring for kakak mijah, since I wont be able to see her anymore. Wasn’t sure what to get for her at first. Decided to get a Bondi Beach Life Guard t-shirt for her, but on 2nd thoughts, don’t think that she will like it. Anyway, the ear ring is unique and cute. 2 little wooden kangaroos.

Walked to Galleries Vic to meet Ellex and Sing Lin. Bought some books that were on sale. 3 for $10. nice offer. But unsure about the context of the books, anyway, I can bring home for mum if I don’t like. Sing Lin wanted to buy a set of Logitech Speakers that are on sale. She wanted to get herself the latest Sony Network Walkman that I had been fantasizing of. We went to a Sony shop and I saw a set of Sony speakers for computer which are the next wonders of the world. The design is so futuristic and unique. Sony always wins by looks. Haha. At a price of only $99 (before was $399), they are just irresistible. But, the sad look on alex’s face when I frenzied made me stop. I must not be selfish. Eventhough I wanted those speakers so much, I must be considerate. Maybe get them later.. after I moved out..

Unable to decide where to fill out empty stomach, we circle around each other under umbrellas, flipping hands. Ppl around may think we are a bit insane. Haha. Wanted to try the $5 steak at Star Bar, but only Sing Lin is over 18, so went to Ali Baba instead. Alex kept his words and treated me to a kebab wrap. Took some crazy photos. Walked back to Galleries Vic after that. The terrible storm upturned our umbrellas. I went to Kino to get some manga while they went down pitts street mall to shop.

Ellex and I planned to watch a movie together before I left. Wanted to watch Initial D on wed, but didn’t went coz its mayboo’s last night, wanted to play with her. In the end, she went out with Rachel and didn’t come back till late at night…. He went to watch War of the World with his frens already. Told me the movie kinda sucks and he being guinea pig. Haha. Sing Lin watched Madagascar before already and had promised to watch WOTW with her senior. No more movie for me.. a bit disappointed.. but at least I can save some $$$.

Stopped by at Wollies and had some hot drinks at Gloria Jeans before heading home. The rain and wind destroyed my umbrella… met Prema and Athari on the way to the bus stop. Faked kissing Sing Lin in the bus.. a bit awkward. But it was fun.. haha. Alex became the director. Ellex was quite quiet..

The biggest shower war had started. This time alex took part. My special weapon: Pail, had been banned. Nevermind, thanks to mastermind Alex, I showed out with another secret weapon: The Umbrella!! Muahahahahha. It shielded my from the splashes and sprays. Icha’s pot acted as my offensive weapon. It was damn fun. Water splashing here and there across the cubicle walls. Ellex climbed over several times to ambush me. I did the same when he was not aware. When I saw him filling up his bottle, I went to defensive mode: Squatting on the floor with umbrella over head. Haha. Alex retreated after some time. I lost the battle once again because Ellex used his dirty techniques by stretching his hand from underneath and grabbed all my cloths and my pot. Leaving me naked in the cubicle with only a out-of-shape umbrella. Hahaha. I was made prisoner of war.. what a memorable night.. the most memorable bath I had. Ellex told me that he might never stay at Taylors anymore after he comes back from Brunei for his holidays. That means this will be the last night we had our showers together. Even though he said MAY, but MAY means there MAY be some chances that he MAY not be here anymore… cant bear the thought of it. Without him and his “kannena”, life would be… well.. boring.

Had the Last Supper together with Ellex. Cooked a lot of stuff. I don’t know why.. but the situation is a bit tense.. hah.
